David has over 18 years experience in the financial services industry. Prior to setting up Unity Partners in May 2007, David worked as a Certified Financial Planner with Fowler’s Group for 3 years. David spent the previous five years with Wilson HTM as a Senior Financial Planner, managing an extensive client portfolio and providing advice and strategies for pre and post retirement, wealth accumulation and wealth protection. Before moving to Wilson HTM, David spent his post-graduation years at the National Australia Bank as a Financial Planning Manager. It was during his time at National Australia Bank that David attained his accreditation as a Certified Financial Planner. In his final year of University study, David was sponsored by Queensland Sugar to examine the feasibility of exporting sugar products to Vietnam. David’s research, which included two weeks of trade talks and negotiations in Vietnam, culminated in the delivery of a Strategic Export Marketing Plan. David’s foray into the international arena helped develop his communication, negotiation and strategic planning skills. David’s strengths lie in developing strategies to assist clients with the accumulation of superannuation, retirement planning, entity structuring, asset protection, investment gearing and wealth creation. David is a Certified Financial Planner through the Financial Planning Association of Australia. This certification assures the public that those accredited have met rigorous professional standards and have also agreed to adhere to the principles of integrity, objectivity, competence, fairness, diligence, professionalism, confidentiality and compliance. David holds a Diploma of Financial Planning, Bachelor of Business in Agribusiness and a Diploma of Export Management from the University of Queensland. He has held a Proper Authority since February 1996. David has also done post graduate study in the area of Portfolio Theory. From 2002, David also held a position on the Recommended Asset Allocation Committee at Wilson HTM Ltd.
